Madeline Carroll will grace the big screen more than once this year. In January, Madeline was seen in the film THE SPY NEXT DOOR starring Jackie Chan. In August, Madeline plays the lead in a film called FLIPPED. “It’s directed by Rob Reiner, set in the 60s, it’s kind of like STAND BY ME, a little bit. It’s a poor girl, she likes the rich boy but he doesn’t like her back,” she explained to us. “It’s really cool how it’s done, it will show one scene through the boy’s eyes, then again through the girl’s eyes, your going to love it.” Madeline plays the girl named Juli. “Juli is a girl who hasn’t ever had anything handed to her. She loves life and the smaller things. Really cool, down-to-earth girl. I think a lot of kids could relate to her.” FLIPPED will be in limited theatres on August 6th and nationwide on August 27th.

Madeline definitely isn’t new to the acting world, so we asked her what advice she has for young girls and boys who are interested in getting into acting. “Make sure you really like it because it takes up a lot of time and if you don’t really like it, don’t do it. There is a lot of devastation as well. If you don’t get a part that you really want, you’re going to be upset, but always remember there is a part for everybody so keep at it,” she told us with confidence. “It’s like other things, just like sports, you have to practice to make it perfect, it’s the same thing with acting.” Great advice coming from a girl who is only 14 years old!

What’s next for Madeline? “I am filming a movie with Gerard Butler called MACHINE GUN PREACHER. It’s so much fun, Gerard is awesome, and hot,” she said laughing. Although MACHINE GUN PREACHER isn’t set to release until next year, we are already excited to see it, Madeline!
